Our Roots

From Italy to Sutton, a focaccia love story baked with local farms and famiglia.

A single, generously filled focaccia pocket sliced open on a small plate, revealing an indulgent interior of roasted vegetables in rich caponata, ribbons of mortadella, and a ribbon of creamy cheese. The focaccia’s crust is lightly blistered, with visible flakes of sea salt and tiny pools of olive oil in the dimples. The plate rests on a narrow wooden ledge of a Sutton summer market stand, with colorful, bilingual-style signage suggested only as abstract shapes and colors in the background. Gentle overcast daylight creates even, soft illumination, emphasizing the textures of the crumb and filling. Captured at a close, three-quarter angle with shallow depth of field, the mood is cozy, playful, and enticingly artisanal in photographic realism.
A close-up of a thick focaccia sandwich cut in half to reveal playful layers: pillowy bread with a golden crust, generously stuffed with glossy caponata, silky slices of mortadella, and creamy stracciatella gently oozing from the edges. The sandwich rests on brown parchment atop a simple wooden stall counter at a small market, with jars of canned caponata and baskets of fresh vegetables softly blurred behind. Warm, diffused afternoon light from the side highlights the textures of the filling and the airy crumb. Shot at eye level with shallow depth of field, the composition centers the cut edge, creating an inviting, mouthwatering, photographic image.

From Nonna’s Kitchen to Sutton

Gastronomie Giulia began with memories of warm Italian kitchens and a love of Sutton’s farms. We knead slow-risen focaccia with local flour, olive oil, and joy, then layer it with vibrant, market-fresh ingredients.

A golden, oven-fresh sheet of classic Italian focaccia, its surface dimpled and glistening with extra-virgin olive oil and coarse sea salt, fills a rustic wooden board. Sprigs of fresh rosemary and scattered cherry tomato halves are baked into the airy, open crumb, revealing pockets of steam. The bread is set on a simple linen cloth at an outdoor Sutton summer market stand, with blurred crates of local produce and canned caponata in the background. Soft late-morning natural light creates gentle highlights on the crust and subtle shadows in the dimples. Captured at a slightly elevated, three-quarter angle with shallow depth of field, in vibrant, photographic realism and a playful, welcoming mood.
A vibrant focaccia pizza displayed on a wooden peel, its thick, airy base topped with swirls of bright green pesto, thinly sliced potatoes, and melted cheese bubbling at the edges. Specks of crushed pistachio and fresh basil leaves add playful pops of color. The peel rests on a clean, light-colored counter at an open-air market stand, with chalkboard-style price panels implied as blurred shapes in the background, avoiding any readable text. Soft golden hour sunlight washes across the scene, enhancing the greens and warm crust tones. Captured from a slightly overhead angle with crisp focus on the toppings and a gentle bokeh behind, in vivid, photographic realism.
An assortment of small, rectangular focaccia slices arranged in a casual, playful grid on a large wooden platter: one topped with caponata and torn basil, another with ham and melted cheese, a third with mortadella and pistachios, and a fourth with dollops of stracciatella and pesto. The platter sits on a market stall draped with a neutral linen cloth, flanked by neat stacks of unlabelled canned caponata and rustic crates of vegetables, all softly out of focus. Bright but diffused daytime light from above creates crisp, appetizing detail without harsh shadows. Shot from a top-down, bird’s-eye view, the composition is clean and organized, with photographic realism and a fun, tasting-menu mood.
